Earlier Project Management Unit (PMU) was established under the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD), Government of the Punjab. Considering worldwide trends towards M&E and its benefits, Project Management Unit (PMU) was converted in to Directorate General Monitoring and Evaluation (DGM&E) in 2008 which is an attached department of Planning and Development Board, Government of the Punjab its core responsibility is to Monitor and Evaluate the ongoing and completed public sector development projects. Comprising of 18 Gazetted and 50 non-Gazetted posts.
